He is passionate about helping clients achieve their financial goals so they can focus on what matters most to them.
Michael graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of New Mexico, then completed his financial planning certification through Boston University. He was awarded the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation in 2011 and became a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) charter-holder in 2019. He has also earned the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing to further his knowledge about incorporating Environmental, Social and Governance factors into investment management.
Making an Impact
Michael has volunteered for many organizations, including San Francisco Financial Planning Day, where people receive free financial planning advice. This event is a valuable opportunity to help underserved communities learn about financial planning topics such as budgeting, getting out of debt, and paying for college - that can significantly impact their lives. Michael’s desire to help clients who want to align their investment portfolios with their ethical beliefs while realizing improved financial outcomes led him to pursue the Certificate in ESG Investing.
A Secret About Michael
Right after graduating from college, Michael toured the country playing the guitar in a rock band. They performed in over twenty cities from New York to Seattle and Portland. Sadly, after the tour, the band moved to San Francisco and never played another show. He blames the end of his Rock-star career on the decline in music sales due to streaming services and file sharing… as well as not being very good at the guitar.
